Hey there entrepreneur!

Today we’re going to be talking about the age old question, “Why you should be on YouTube as an online coach?”

01. You’re already a video fan

Firstly, if you already enjoy producing video content, whether that would be on IG stories, on TikTok or going live inside your own Facebook group, YouTube may be a great platform for you to really further amplify your reach and get new people to discover you, your content and ultimately your business.

If you didn’t know by now, YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world. So to say there’s quite a lot of traffic inside the platform with tens and thousands of people searching for content and searching for answers
to their questions every single second would be an understatement.

If you produce searchable content around your coaching niche and publish
consistently inside your YouTube channel after a certain period of time, these videos are going to start to rank on YouTube.

They’re going to start to rank on Google, and you’re going to actually be attracting great organic traffic to your business for years to come.

If you have no idea what kind of content you should be publishing on YouTube, make sure to check out this video where I talk about the three crucial types of content that every online coach should be sharing inside their YouTube channels.

02. You want more bang for your content

Moving on from that, the second reason why you should be on YouTube is the ease when it comes to creating content across different platforms.

Now, what I mean by that is the moment you have one longer format video, that’s basically all the content that you need to then just take and break it up into chunks to distribute across other social media platforms.

For example, you can take a longer format video, chop it up into parts and distribute that across Instagram and Facebook.

Maybe you can take that very long format content video and put it inside LinkedIn for your audience there as well.

If you really want to go deeper, you can take out some of the quotes or
some of the more essential parts of what you’re referring to in the video and turn those into one of those motivational quotation posts or even transcribe your video and take the text and turn that into a blog post, which then you can actually publish on your own website, Medium.

Fun fact: this article is pretty much repurposed from the transcription of my YouTube video with the exact same title.

Let’s face it, as online coaches, we don’t have all the time in the world to be creating all of this content for all of the social media platforms.

So if you have one video, you basically have all of your content covered for weeks, if not for months in advance.

03. You want to share unlisted training videos with your coaching clients

The third way you might want to be on YouTube is if you’re already doing
online courses, online trainings, and your website is becoming a little bit
tight when it comes to storing all of your videos, maybe your Google Drive or
your one drive has run out of space.

Give me a hands up down in the comments, if this is relatable.

You’re looking for a place to just drop your videos to drop your clients or your other colleagues can actually easily access this kind of information.

One of the ways I love to utilise this is by using unlisted videos inside YouTube, which means if I have a training video that’s only exclusive for a certain group of people, I upload that video into YouTube and then share the hidden link with the people that I know should be watching that video.

This way, if you don’t have a big budget to be storing all of your videos in different places, YouTube very much gives you a free of charge option to be able to easily drop your video content.

04. Grow your ideal audience to sell more of your products & services

I feel like we have to be mentioning the elephant in the room here.

You are on YouTube, not just to be on YouTube.

You’re on YouTube to be attracting your ideal audience and hopefully be getting qualified leads to work with you, whether that’s for your 1:1 coaching or your 1:many services. Perhaps you have other digital products that you’re selling as well.

If you’re on YouTube and building an audience, you already have a warm audience to then launch your courses and your other products.

So this is definitely one of the big reasons why I personally love being on YouTube to be able to connect with all of you and really share with you a lot of valuable content free of charge.

Then occasionally let you know when I have something coming up.

If you want to work with me, you can definitely get in touch with me.

And that way we’re actually building this relationship together.

And this is something that you can actually harvest for your very own YouTube channel as well.

By the way, if you have any questions about YouTube, let me know down in the comments and drop me a message if you want to have a chat with me about your very own YouTube strategy.

05. Establishing that know-like-trust at scale

The last point I’m going to be making in this article is about that know, like and trust factor that we always talk about.

Video is one of the best ways to actually talk to someone without having to directly talk to someone.

This way you’re really building this relationship with the person that is watching you. I always say YouTube videos are like hosting webinars on steroids at scale.

On a platform like YouTube, through the comments or through the community tab, you can actually have meaningful exchanges with your audience, which furthers that trust factor before someone considers to make a purchase from you.

So just to quickly summarise,

If you’re the kind of person who already loves being on video and you want to be able to attract a bigger and better audience for your 1:1 or 1:many courses and other digital products, you should definitely consider getting started on YouTube as an online coach.

If you have any questions, let me know down in the comments, you can ask me anything about getting started with YouTube.
